Hot Fruit Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
1 can applesauce, regular size
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 large can pears, sliced
1 (10 oz.) bottle red cherries
2 sliced bananas
1 large can sliced peaches
1 large can pineapple chunks
1 large can purple plums, optional
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sherry
Directions for Hot Fruit Casserole Recipe
- Turn oven on to 350 degrees
- In a pan, melt the butter and add in the brown sugar and applesauce
- Add the fruits to the applesauce mixture except for the cherries
- Add the mixture into a casserole dish
- Top with the cherries and 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
- Bake for 1 hour
This sweet and colorful hot fruit casserole recipe and is perfect with an egg casserole at a holiday brunch. It can bake right alongside the eggs, so everything is conveniently done at the same time
