Baked Macaroni Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
fresh ground black pepper, to taste
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded good quality
1/2 cup breadcrumbs, buttered
Directions for Baked Macaroni Casserole Recipe
- Turn oven on to 400 degrees
- Cook the macaroni following directions
- In a pan, add the melted butter, flour, salt, and pepper
- Pour in milk and cream
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 min
- Add in shredded cheddar and cook until it melts
- Add in macaroni and mix well
- Add the macaroni mixture into a casserole dish
- Top with breadcrumbs
- Bake for 20 minutes
Made this baked macaroni casserole recipe today for a family cookout and it was raved about! I used medium shells (holds the cheese sauce better) and I must of given this recipe out to 20 people. Awesome dish!
